Being board certified by this specific board means that your surgeon has undergone rigorous training in an accredited program and has had his skills, knowledge, and ethics critically evaluated and has met the high standards of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. (This is different from the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, which doesn’t require surgeons to meet the same criteria and is not recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties) Both Drs. The Umansky surgical facility is certified by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (AAAASF), which was established to improve the quality of outpatient-based health care. The AAAASF sets a high bar for accreditation and holds outpatient facilities to outpatient hospital standards, with rigorous requirements that are continually updated. To receive AAAASF accreditation, an outpatient facility must adhere to stringent guidelines regarding sanitation, staff credentials, equipment, and patient care. When you choose our accredited facility, you can be certain that your surgeons are board-certified with hospital privileges, the surgical environment will be clean and modern, and the anesthesiologists are also board certified. Our facility is regularly inspected and continues to meet the high standards set forth by the AAAASF as part of our ongoing commitment to patient safety.
